1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you:
Use the BlueBee mobile or web apps;
Visit our website at bluebeeapp.com;
Interact with us by email, support channels, or social media.
This Policy does not apply to third-party services (such as Stripe, Apple, or your own website or tools), which have their own privacy policies.
2. Who we serve
BlueBee is designed for home-service businesses in the USA, such as cleaning, landscaping, construction, electrical, plumbing, and similar services.
Our users ("Customers") use BlueBee to manage their business and to store information about their own clients ("Client Contacts").
When we process Client Contact data on behalf of a Customer, we act as a service provider / processor and the Customer is responsible for complying with any privacy obligations they have towards their clients.
3. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
3.1 Information you provide directly
From Customers (you):
Name and contact details (email, phone number, business address);
Account login information (passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing);
Business details (business name, logo, industry, brand colors);
Service descriptions, prices, estimates, invoices and other documents;
Communications you send us (support requests, feedback);
Subscription and billing information (excluding full card data when payments are processed by Apple or Stripe).
From Client Contacts (entered by you):
Name, email address, phone number;
Service location and property address;
Job details, estimates, invoices and payment status.
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we automatically collect:
Device information (device model, operating system, app version);
Log data (IP address, timestamps, pages or screens viewed, referring URLs);
Usage data (buttons clicked, features used, crash reports and performance logs).
We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information from:
Stripe, when you connect your account (e.g., account identifiers, payment status, charge and payout details);
App distribution platforms (e.g. Apple App Store) for purchase and subscription status;
Analytics and crash-reporting providers.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
Provide and maintain the Service (account creation, authentication, syncing, storage of estimates/invoices/clients);
Process and track payments via Stripe and show you payment status;
Send transactional emails or SMS (for example, estimate and invoice links, payment confirmations, account notifications);
Customize the Service (for example, display your logo and brand colors);
Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
Monitor and improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features;
Protect the Service, our users, and our company from fraud, abuse, and security threats;
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
Send SMS messages on behalf of our Customers to their Client Contacts for the purpose of delivering estimates, invoices, and payment-related notifications, as directed by the Customer;
Send optional product updates, tips, or marketing communications, where permitted by law (you can opt out at any time).
5. SMS Privacy Notice
When our Customers use the SMS feature of BlueBee to send estimates or invoices to their clients, we collect and process the recipient's phone number for the sole purpose of delivering the requested message.
We do not sell, share, or use these phone numbers for marketing purposes.
Phone numbers of Client Contacts are stored as part of the Customer's client records and are retained in accordance with Section 9 (Data Retention) of this Policy.
Recipients may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. Once opted out, no further SMS messages will be sent to that number through BlueBee unless the recipient opts back in by replying START.
For SMS-related inquiries, recipients may reply HELP for assistance or contact us at info@bluebeeapp.com.
SMS messages are delivered through third-party providers (such as Twilio). Message delivery is subject to the recipient's mobile carrier and plan. Message and data rates may apply. BlueBee is not responsible for charges incurred by the recipient's carrier.
6. Legal bases (if you are in the EEA/UK or similar regions)
Although we currently focus on the USA, if you access BlueBee from the European Economic Area, the UK, or similar jurisdictions, we rely on these legal bases:
Performance of a contract (to provide the Service);
Legitimate interests (for security, improvement, and certain marketing);
Consent (where required, for example for certain marketing or cookies).
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information as follows:
Service providers – With trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, such as cloud hosting providers, email and SMS delivery services, analytics and crash-reporting tools, and customer-support software.
Stripe and payment partners – To enable online payments and protect against fraud.
App stores – With Apple or other platforms as needed to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
Business transfers – If we engage in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Legal and safety – When required by law or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
When we act as a processor for our Customers, we only process Client Contact data according to their instructions and our contract with them.
8. International transfers
Your information may be stored and processed on servers located in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to protect your information in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to:
Provide the Service to you;
Fulfill the purposes described in this Policy;
Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations;
Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
If you cancel a paid subscription, your account reverts to the Free Plan and your data is retained and accessible under Free Plan limits.
If you delete your account through the app, your data will be scheduled for permanent deletion after thirty (30) days. During this period, you may contact us at info@bluebeeapp.com to request account restoration. After 30 days, your data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
We may also delete or anonymize data of accounts that have been inactive for more than twelve (12) months, unless we need to retain it for legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect personal information, such as:
Encryption in transit;
Access controls;
Regular backups;
Secure development practices.
However, no system can be 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for choosing a strong password.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, such as the right to:
Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
Request deletion of your information, subject to legal exceptions;
Object to or restrict certain processing;
Opt out of marketing communications.
You can also:
Update your account information directly in the app;
Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the "unsubscribe" link;
Contact us at info@bluebeeapp.com to exercise your rights. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are a Client Contact of one of our Customers and want to exercise your rights, please contact that Customer directly. We will assist them as needed.
12. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided information through the Service, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective date" at the top and, where appropriate, by sending an email or in-app notification.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Policy becomes effective means you accept the changes.
